What this site is
UK Job Now is a free set of UK pay and employment calculators. Work out your take-home pay, your holiday entitlement, your notice period, your redundancy pay and your statutory sick pay — using the official figures, with the workings shown.
Why it exists
Too many pay and employment calculators give you a number with no explanation of how they got there, and some still use last year’s tax bands months after the rules have changed. UK Job Now exists to fix both problems: every result comes with its working shown, and every figure is checked against the current tax year before it goes live.
Who runs it
UK Job Now is built and maintained by a small team, not a big company. We’re not accountants or tax advisers, and we don’t pretend to be — that’s exactly why every figure on this site links back to the official source behind it, so you can check our working for yourself.
How we keep the numbers right
Every figure on this site comes from GOV.UK, and each one is listed with its source on our methodology page. Nothing here is copied from other calculator sites.
All the statutory figures live in a single file. When rates change at the start of the tax year, that one file is updated and every calculator, every reference table and every page updates together — so there’s no risk of one page showing current figures while another has gone stale.
Before any change goes live, the calculations are tested against worked examples, including the awkward cases: the Personal Allowance taper above £100,000, the Scottish tax bands, and redundancy pay for service that spans an age band.
What we are not
We are not accountants, tax advisers or solicitors, and we’re not affiliated with HMRC, the Department for Work and Pensions or any other government department. Our calculators give you an estimate — for your exact position, check your payslip or speak to your employer’s payroll team. For questions about your rights at work, Acas gives free, impartial advice.
How we make money
UK Job Now does not currently make any money. There’s no advertising and no affiliate links anywhere on the site. If that ever changes, we’ll update this page to say so plainly — and whatever happens, it will never affect the numbers our calculators produce, which come from the official figures alone.
