About this site

Editorial policy

The rules we hold ourselves to when we publish a number about someone else's money.

Our commitments

This site tells people things about their own money. That carries an obligation, and these are the rules we hold ourselves to.

1. Every figure has a source

We use GOV.UK as the source for every statutory rate and threshold. Each one is listed, with a link, on our methodology page. We do not take figures from other calculator sites, news articles or summaries.

2. We show our working

Every calculator shows a full breakdown, not just a final number. If we cannot explain how a figure was reached, we do not publish it.

3. We say when we last checked

Every calculator carries the tax year it applies to and the date the figures were last verified. If that date looks old, treat the figures with caution and tell us.

4. We state our assumptions

Every calculator lists what it assumes — standard tax code, no other income, and so on. An estimate presented without its assumptions is misleading, even when the arithmetic is correct.

5. We correct mistakes openly

If we get something wrong we fix it and note what changed. We do not quietly edit a page and pretend it was always right.

6. Money never changes a number

UK Job Now does not currently carry advertising or affiliate links, so there is no commercial pressure on any figure on this site. If that ever changes, we will say so here and on the page it applies to, and it still will not move a calculation. No advertiser or commercial arrangement gets to influence a result.

7. We do not give personal advice

We publish general information and calculators. We do not give personal tax, financial or legal advice, and we cannot advise on an individual case. Where a question needs professional help, we say so and point to
GOV.UK,
Acas or
Citizens Advice.

8. Updates

Rates change on 6 April each year, and sometimes at a Budget. We aim to update within a week of any change.

Contact us about accuracy

If you believe something here is wrong, email info@ukjobnow.com with the figures you used and what you expected. Accuracy reports go to the front of the queue.

* Estimates only, based on the figures you enter and a standard tax code. Not advice, and not affiliated with HMRC or any government department. 2026/27 figures — how we calculate.
