Role Overview
FGH Security is seeking professional SIA Door Supervisors to join the Exeter team. Working weekend evening shifts, Door Supervisors will ensure the safety and security of popular venues such as Albert’s Schloss, Manahatta, Banyan, and BOX. The role involves providing visible, approachable, and effective security while blending seamlessly into the customer experience.
This position is ideal for someone customer-focused, confident under pressure, and dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities as Door Supervisor
- Monitor guest behaviour and assess suitability for entry in line with venue policies and legal requirements
- Manage safe venue capacity and support crowd dispersal when required
- Patrol the venue, carrying out occasional physical searches of guests
- Refuse entry or request guests to leave if behaviour does not meet venue rules, using physical intervention if necessary
- Protect venue assets and staff while maintaining a calm, professional presence
- Record incidents, searches, and patrols in line with company procedures
Skills & Experience Required
- Valid SIA Door Supervision Licence (essential)
- Valid SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence (preferred)
- Previous experience working in the night-time economy (bars, pubs, clubs, etc.)
- Availability on Friday and Saturday evenings
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Smart, professional appearance with strong interpersonal abilities
- Confidence in handling conflict and de-escalating challenging situations
- Ability to remain vigilant with a keen eye for detail
- Proof of 5-year employment/education history and references (required during screening)
Shift Pattern & Pay
- Rate: £14.68 – £16.30 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
- Shifts: Weekend evening shifts (Friday and Saturday nights)
