Role Overview
As a Senior Building Surveyor, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a wide range of professional and project services across Knight Frank’s diverse property portfolio. This role involves leading complex building surveying instructions, advising clients on property condition, managing refurbishments, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities as Senior Building Surveyor
Deliver professional building surveying services including condition surveys, technical due diligence, defect analysis, and planned maintenance reports
Lead and manage refurbishment, repair, and maintenance projects from inception to completion
Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation
Provide expert advice to clients on building pathology, construction standards, and regulatory compliance
Conduct surveys across a variety of commercial and residential properties
Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to deliver high-quality outcomes
Prepare structured reports and present findings to clients clearly and professionally
Support junior surveyors through mentoring and technical guidance
Skills & Experience Required
RICS Chartered status (MRICS or FRICS)
Strong technical knowledge of building surveying principles, construction methods, and legislation
Proven experience delivering both professional and project-based surveying work
Excellent report-writing, analysis, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple instructions and meet deadlines effectively
Confident in client engagement, relationship-building, and presenting technical information
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as within a team
