Role Overview

The Centre is seeking a Security Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of security operations. This pivotal role ensures a safe, secure, and compliant environment across the venue for staff, visitors, audiences, and partners. The successful candidate will manage both an in-house security team and external contracts, while playing a key part in delivering high-profile events at one of the UK’s most iconic cultural landmarks.

This role is ideal for an experienced leader with strong organisational skills and a proven background in security operations.

  • Lead and manage a team of 12 contracted security staff and outsourced providers on a 24/7 rota
  • Ensure compliance with all security legislation, licensing requirements, and SIA standards
  • Oversee security rosters, training programmes, and administrative duties for the team
  • Act as the responsible person on-site, ensuring seamless security across all events
  • Take responsibility for the introduction and implementation of Martyn’s Law (2025)
  • Cover security shifts where required and act as the first point of contact for the team
  • Deliver proactive, high-standard security services for all events and activities

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven leadership and management experience within security operations
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, licensing, and industry regulations
  • Ability to train, motivate, and develop security staff to high professional standards
  • Excellent organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to plan ahead
  • Flexible and proactive, able to adapt to fast-paced, high-profile event environments
  • Eligible to pass a DBS check before starting employment
  • Salary: £30,610–£33,919 per year
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Contract: Permanent annualised hours
  • Location: On-site (Cardiff, Wales)
