Role Overview
Mitie is seeking a Security Officer to join the team at Bentall Centre, Kingston Upon Thames. In this role, the officer will play a key part in safeguarding the centre’s property, people, and assets, while ensuring compliance with site-specific procedures and industry standards. This position is ideal for someone vigilant, professional, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for both staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities as Security Officer
- Protect property, people, and assets in line with published Assignment Instructions (AI’s)
- Stay alert to risks, hazards, and potential threats, responding swiftly and effectively
- Ensure compliance with all security, health, and safety regulations and procedures
- Monitor CCTV systems (SIA CCTV PSS licence required) and report incidents promptly
- Maintain accurate and detailed records, including incident reports and daily logs
- Carry out regular patrols and scheduled check calls
- Respond to emergencies and liaise with emergency services when necessary
- Complete all mandatory training and proactively pursue ongoing self-development
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous security experience
- Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision)
- CCTV PSS SIA Licence (required by the customer)
- SC Clearance desirable
- Strong awareness of health & safety
- Professional conduct in challenging situations
- Ability to work systematically and follow procedures accurately
Shift Pattern & Hours
- 39 hours per week
- 5 days on, 3 days off (rotational shifts with staggered start times)
