Role Overview
As a Campus Security Officer, the successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment across the Manchester campus. This role combines frontline security with excellent customer service, ensuring that all staff, students, and visitors feel supported and secure.
This position is ideal for someone professional, vigilant, and approachable, with the ability to balance safety responsibilities with a courteous front-of-house presence.
Key Responsibilities as a Campus Security Officer
- Monitor campus security through regular surveillance and patrols
- Manage visitors, deliveries, and access control procedures
- Carry out security checks and lock/unlock procedures as required
- Respond promptly to incidents and prepare clear reports
- Provide assistance and guidance to staff, students, and visitors
- Liaise with colleagues, contractors, and emergency services when necessary
Skills & Experience Required
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, approachable, and reliable demeanor
- Excellent awareness, observation, and incident-response skills
- Ability to follow security protocols and procedures accurately
- Previous experience in a security role (preferred)
- Flexibility to work across campus operational hours
- DBS check required (to be completed before starting)
Shift Pattern & Location
- On-site role based in Manchester
- Flexibility required to cover shifts during campus operating hours
