Role Overview
As a Security Officer, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in protecting the site by ensuring that access is restricted to authorised personnel only. This role involves managing security operations across the site, from monitoring CCTV systems to conducting patrols and assisting with incident response.
This position is ideal for someone observant, reliable, and professional, with the ability to balance vigilance with excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities as a Security Officer
- Control and monitor access to site, allowing entry only to approved personnel
- Welcome and hold visitors at reception until collected by a Chemring Countermeasures employee
- Assist in conducting searches of vehicles, personnel, and buildings when required
- Monitor CCTV systems and report any concerns
- Carry out routine site patrols and log key security points
- Perform employee identity spot checks
- Manage incoming and outgoing post
- Maintain a confidential internal telephone contact list
Skills & Experience Required
- Right to live and work in the UK (essential)
- Valid SIA qualification (desirable)
- Previous security experience in a similar role (preferred)
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to follow clear procedures and respond effectively to incidents
- Flexibility to work across rotating shifts (days and nights)
Shift Pattern & Location
- Based on-site at Chemring Countermeasures
- Rotating shift pattern: 2 x day shifts (6am–6pm), 2 x night shifts (6pm–6am), followed by 4 days off
