Role Overview

As a Security Officer at 200 Aldersgate, the successful candidate will be responsible for protecting people, premises, and property while ensuring a professional and welcoming environment. This role involves working as part of a high-performing team to safeguard the building, support tenants and visitors, and respond effectively to security incidents.

This position is ideal for someone dependable, customer-focused, and confident in handling both day-to-day duties and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities as Security Officer

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to staff, tenants, and visitors
  • Maintain a visible, approachable, and professional security presence
  • Carry out ID checks, control access, and monitor CCTV systems
  • Respond calmly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents
  • Conduct regular patrols, reporting hazards or unusual activity
  • Manage key control and complete accurate logs and incident reports
  • Support audits, checks, and reporting of faults or safety issues
  • Collaborate with front-of-house, cleaning, maintenance, and catering teams
  • Train and support new colleagues, promoting a “one team” culture
  • Uphold confidentiality, integrity, and professional conduct at all times

Skills & Experience Required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong focus on customer service and professionalism
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask effectively
  • Reliable, punctual, and physically fit for patrol duties
  • IT-literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Strong initiative with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to train in First Aid, fire marshal duties, and conflict management
  • Knowledge of security threats and proactive in identifying risks
  • Must hold an SIA licence and adhere to industry regulations

Shift Pattern & Pay

  • £13.85 per hour
  • Average 56 hours per week
  • Shift pattern: 7 on / 3 off, 7 on / 4 off
