Role Overview
As a Security Officer, the successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of guests, colleagues, and venues. From welcoming visitors and carrying out age-verification checks, to conducting patrols and supporting emergency procedures, this role requires professionalism, vigilance, and excellent customer service.
This position is ideal for someone with strong interpersonal skills, a professional approach, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering a secure yet welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities as Security Officer
- Greet and interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner
- Implement Challenge 21 age-verification procedures with attention to detail
- Conduct regular security patrols to deter threats and safeguard the venue
- Provide first aid assistance until medical support arrives if required
- Support safe and efficient evacuations during emergencies
- Identify and respond to guest vulnerabilities with care and discretion
- Escort cashiers to ensure secure transfer of funds
- Carry out random and staff searches as needed
- Monitor CCTV systems, attendance, and compliance data
- Complete accurate reports and paperwork on incidents and procedures
- Participate in briefings and monthly team meetings
- Support management with health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and event security
- Liaise with suppliers and clients to support smooth event operations
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in a customer-facing role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, approachable, and attentive to detail
- Sound judgment and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Level 2 licence
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be 18+ with the right to work in the UK
