Role Overview
As a Security Guard, the successful candidate will support multiple MP Moran branches, providing essential cover during holidays and staff absences. This is a dynamic position where no two days are the same, requiring vigilance, flexibility, and the ability to respond calmly and decisively. Working across Kilburn, Willesden, and Tottenham branches, the Security Guard will be trusted to protect premises, monitor activity, and ensure a secure environment for all.
This role is ideal for someone dependable, observant, and proactive, with a commitment to upholding safety standards in a busy retail and trade setting.
Key Responsibilities as Security Guard
- Monitor customer behaviour and respond to suspicious activity
- Conduct searches of suspects when required
- Check and collect customer receipts to prevent theft
- Observe till areas and monitor staff transactions
- Patrol all areas of the shop, including blind spots, basements, storerooms, and showrooms
- Inspect external areas such as backyards, alleyways, and delivery zones
- Carry out random spot checks and incident logging for review with management
- Ensure premises are secure at closing, leaving with the last staff member
- Liaise with store managers on security matters and report incidents weekly
- Check delivery tickets on company vehicles and monitor traffic wardens outside stores
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a security role (preferred)
- Valid SIA licence
- Strong observational and communication skills
- Integrity, reliability, and professionalism
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion
- Quick decision-making skills and use of initiative
Shift Pattern & Pay
- £32,000–£34,500 per year (dependent on experience)
- Full-time, permanent contract
- 5 days per week, covering multiple branches:
- Monday: Kilburn branch (6:15am–5:45pm)
- Tuesday–Thursday OR Wednesday–Friday: Willesden branch (6:30am–5:30pm)
- Saturday: Tottenham branch (6:00am–4:15pm)
