Role Overview

EDF UK is seeking a Security Guard to join the team at Sizewell B Power Station. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all staff, contractors, and visitors. From access control to security patrols, the Security Guard will help protect one of the UK’s key energy facilities, using modern techniques and adhering to the highest safety standards. Full training will be provided.

This position is suited to individuals who are proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities as Security Guard

  • Carry out personnel and vehicle access control
  • Conduct regular patrols and security checks across the site
  • Maintain accurate security records, logs, and reports
  • Perform searches and checks using modern security techniques
  • Ensure compliance with site licence requirements, security agreements, statutory regulations, and safety rules
  • Advise on and undertake general security duties as required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proactive and flexible approach to work with minimal supervision
  • GCSE/national qualification (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (grade C or above preferred)
  • Previous experience in security and computer literacy desirable
  • Security Industry Authority (SIA) qualification or service background advantageous
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle situations tactfully and professionally
  • Capable of producing clear, detailed, and accurate incident reports
  • Team player with proven ability to work effectively in close-knit environments

Shift Pattern & Pay

  • Salary: £35,059 – £45,641 (depending on experience, qualifications, and company agreement)
