Role Overview
Cleveland Clinic London is seeking a Protective Services Supervisor to join the Protective Services Department at their central London hospital. Based at 33 Grosvenor Place, London, SW1X 7HY, this permanent position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
Reporting to the Protective Services Security and Control Room Manager, the Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations within the London Security Operations Centre (LSOC), while also supporting emergency and disaster management functions. This position is critical in protecting people, property, and operations, and in ensuring an excellent patient and visitor experience.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader in security, military, or policing, who thrives in a demanding operational environment and has proven expertise in managing both people and technology within a 24/7 security function.
Key Responsibilities as Protective Services Supervisor
- Recruit, manage, and supervise security officers, ensuring high standards of performance and conduct.
- Deliver training programs and ensure staff are fully compliant with policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Oversee the effective use of security technologies, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Monitor reporting processes, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Develop and implement staff development plans, providing coaching and constructive feedback.
- Lead and coordinate emergency responses, including evacuations, disturbances, and lockdowns.
- Support wider departmental goals through additional tasks and operational leadership.
Skills & Experience Required
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor and SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) licences (Required).
- Supervisory experience in a demanding security, military, or policing environment (Required).
- Strong knowledge of the UK security sector, with operational expertise in LSOC or equivalent 24/7 control room environments (Required).
- Demonstrable ability to lead teams effectively under pressure, particularly in emergency situations (Required).
- Experience with modern security systems including CCTV, access and egress control, and third-party management systems (Required).
- Military or police training (Desired).
- Security NVQs, high school diploma (or equivalent) or higher-level qualifications (Required).
Shift Pattern & Pay
- Salary: Up to £37,000 per year
- Hours: 42 per week, based on a 12-hour rotating shift pattern (x2 Days, x2 Nights, x4 Days Off)
- Overtime available
- 24/7/365 operation
