Role Overview

As an Operations Manager based in Hounslow, the successful candidate will be at the heart of Asda’s mission to transform stores for the future while supporting its growing online proposition. This role carries overall responsibility for leading multiple areas of the store, including the online operation, food hall, warehouse, and night teams.

The Operations Manager will be a key member of the duty management team, at times overseeing the store in its entirety. They will inspire their teams to deliver excellence, ensuring high operational standards and enabling a culture of performance, accountability, and customer-first service. This position is ideal for a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, adapts quickly to change, and is committed to delivering a first-class shopping experience both in-store and online.

Key Responsibilities as Operations Manager

  • Lead and oversee the online operation, food hall, nights, and warehouse functions
  • Drive service excellence across all customer touchpoints, both in-store and online
  • Act as duty manager, confidently overseeing the entire store when required
  • Deliver operational standards that align with company strategy and customer expectations
  • Build and sustain a high-performance culture within diverse and varied teams
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, and operational processes
  • Support business transformation initiatives and adapt to evolving retail demands
  • Engage, coach, and mentor colleagues to unlock their potential and deliver results

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven track record of leadership within a fast-paced retail or operations environment
  • Experience managing diverse teams and driving operational excellence
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to adapt to any audience
  • Highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of executing plans effectively
  • A collaborative and engaging leadership style with coaching and mentoring ability
  • Confidence in decision-making and problem-solving under pressure
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences both in-store and online

Shift Pattern & Pay

  • Full-time, 45 hours per week
  • Permanent contract
  • Day shifts with evenings, weekends, and late nights on a rolling rota
