Role Overview
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced HR Manager to join our team in Swansea. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver high-quality HR support to both our local distribution centre and commercial teams in Basingstoke.
As HR Manager, you’ll partner with senior leaders to drive HR initiatives, lead change projects, coach line managers, and oversee all day-to-day HR operations. You’ll also mentor an HR Assistant and contribute to the strategic development of our HR practices. This is an ideal role for a hands-on, commercially minded HR professional looking to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities as HR Manager

Act as a strategic HR partner to leadership and management teams

Design and implement HR initiatives (absence management, L&D, engagement, talent development)

Provide expert guidance on employment legislation and best practice

Support the Head of HR with organisational change and project delivery

Lead HR operations including payroll, recruitment, and employee relations

Coach managers to develop HR capability and confidence

Drive improvements in HR systems, processes, and policy compliance

Manage key HR cycles like performance reviews and salary planning

Provide clear and actionable HR data and reports

Line manage, support, and develop the HR Assistant

Foster consistency across HR practices in all business units
Skills & Experience Required
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience as an HR Manager in a fast-paced environment

Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and develop HR teams

CIPD Level 7 qualification (or working towards) preferred

In-depth knowledge of UK employment law, HR policy, and compliance

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Commercially aware, with a solution-focused approach to HR challenges

Highly organised, with strong time management and attention to detail

Confident using Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite; quick to pick up HR systems

Experience in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing is advantageous

Comfortable working in dynamic, mid-sized companies undergoing change
Location & Work Pattern
Swansea, Wales (with occasional travel to Basingstoke)
Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Full-time | Permanent
