Role Overview

Owens Kitchen & Bar is seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations and uphold the highest standards of service and hospitality. This is a hands-on leadership role where the General Manager will be trusted to guide a dedicated team, maintain smooth operations, and deliver memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate will bring strong people management skills, sound commercial insight, and a deep love for the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities as General Manager

  • Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations, from staff scheduling and inventory control to ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Lead by example to inspire, train, and develop a high-performing front-of-house and kitchen team
  • Maintain consistently high standards of service and handle guest feedback with professionalism and care
  • Monitor financial performance, including budget management, cost control, and revenue generation
  • Work with culinary staff to ensure food quality and presentation meet brand expectations
  • Collaborate on local marketing and promotions to drive visibility and footfall
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a general manager capacity
  • Proven leadership in both front-of-house and kitchen operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-led environment
  • Familiarity with POS systems, stock control, and modern restaurant technology
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences

Pay & Benefits

£40,000 per annum OTE, made up of:

  • Fixed salary of £35,000
  • Performance-based bonus potential

  • Full-time position
  • Includes day shifts, night shifts, and weekend work

Experience Required

  • Restaurant Management: 3 years (required)
  • Bar Management: 1 year (preferred)
  • Hospitality: 4 years (preferred)
