Role Overview

As a Facility Security Officer, the postholder will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and controlled environment at the Diego Garcia facility in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Working as part of a highly professional security team, the role involves access control, surveillance, patrols, and incident response to ensure compliance with strict security and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities as Facility Security Officer

• Control access to facilities by verifying identification and authorisation

• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, perimeters, and restricted areas

• Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and security equipment

• Enforce site security policies, procedures, and regulations

• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents and emergencies

• Maintain accurate security logs, reports, and documentation

• Liaise with site management, supervisors, and emergency services as required

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorised activity

• Support compliance with health, safety, and operational requirements

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in security, guarding, or protective services (preferred)
