Role Overview
The Savoy is seeking a Duty Security Officer to join its Security team. Reporting to the Director of Safety & Security, this role is central to maintaining safety, controlling access, monitoring alarms, and managing visitors across the hotel.
This position is ideal for someone vigilant, proactive, and confident, with a strong commitment to guest safety and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities as Duty Security Officer
- Monitor staff access, ensuring correct swipe-in/out and authorized access
- Issue and receive keys, create staff IDs, and maintain accurate logs
- Patrol front-of-house and back-of-house areas, ensuring doors and fire exits are secure
- Monitor CCTV and report unusual activity; conduct bag searches when required
- Liaise with supervisors for temporary fire alarm disables
- Record and report all incidents and ensure injured persons receive appropriate care
- Monitor fire, panic, showcase, and door alarm panels
- Conduct efficient handovers at shift end, maintaining accurate Security Logs
- Comply with all Health & Safety legislation, following safe working practices
Skills & Experience Required
- 1–3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Confident and professional with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential)
- First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Additional training in Health & Safety, CCTV, Fire Marshall, or Defibrillator is advantageous
- Flexible and multi-skilled to support hotel operations as needed
Shift Pattern & Pay
- Full-time role
- Salary: £35,420 + tronc service charge
- Based at The Savoy, London
