Role Overview: Bid Manager
We’re looking for a driven Bid Manager to join our team in Doncaster. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining strong customer relationships and developing competitive proposals that position Wabtec as the preferred supplier for rail system component overhaul in the UK and Ireland.
You’ll be responsible for managing tenders from initial enquiry to final submission, working closely with sales and technical teams to deliver accurate, timely, and commercially sound proposals.
This is a full-time role offering an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a global organization, shaping strategic bids that drive our growth in rail maintenance and optimization services.
Key Responsibilities as Bid Manager

Build and maintain strong relationships with key UK and Ireland customers

Respond to tender requests with accurate, compliant, and compelling proposals

Collaborate with sales, product, and tender teams to develop winning bid strategies

Coordinate internal stakeholders to align on pricing, technical, and commercial terms

Maintain CRM data, monitor key account activity, and provide performance reports

Lead and support the full tender lifecycle including approvals and post-bid reviews

Contribute to contract compliance, variation orders, and internal planning processes
Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in bid management, sales support, or business development

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for persuasive proposals

Excellent relationship-building and negotiation abilities

Strong organizational and project management skills

Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Experience in the rail, engineering, or transport sector is an advantage
