Role Overview: Assistant Branch Manager (9-Month Contract)

Looking for the next step in your retail career? As an Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll support the Branch Manager in running day-to-day operations, leading your team by example, and making sure our customers always leave satisfied. You’ll help manage everything from team rotas and stock control to store standards and performance targets. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment—ideal for someone driven, team-oriented, and ready to grow.

We offer excellent training and flexible working hours, including part-time options with a minimum of 22.5 hours over 3 days, to support your development and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities as Assistant Branch Manager

  • Maintain high operational standards across the shop floor and warehouse
  • Support with store budgets, rotas, payroll, stock management, and profit analysis
  • Motivate and lead a diverse team to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Step in for the Branch Manager when needed and ensure smooth day-to-day running
  • Help implement business improvements and drive commercial performance
  • Champion sustainability and support inclusive practices across the team

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a retail or management role
  • Strong leadership skills with a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Commercial awareness and ability to interpret performance data (P&L, KPIs, etc.)
  • A natural motivator who leads by example
  • Friendly, honest, and flexible—ready to roll up your sleeves
  • Passionate about delivering great service and continuous improvement

Shift Pattern & Contract

  • 9-month fixed-term contract
  • Part-time or full-time considered (minimum 22.5 hours/week over 3 days)
  • Varied shifts to support work/life balance
