Role Overview

As a Retail Security Officer, the successful candidate will play a key role in protecting retail premises, staff, and customers. The role focuses on preventing loss, deterring theft, and maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment.

Working as part of a professional security team, the Retail Security Officer will provide a visible presence on site, monitor activity, and respond effectively to incidents, ensuring all security procedures are followed.

This position is ideal for someone observant, approachable, and confident, who takes pride in delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high security standards.

Key Responsibilities as Retail Security Officer

• Provide a professional and visible security presence within retail stores

• Monitor shop floor activity to deter theft and anti-social behaviour

• Carry out regular patrols of the premises

• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies

• Challenge suspicious behaviour in a calm and professional manner

• Assist customers and staff with queries and safety concerns

• Enforce store policies and security procedures

• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records

• Work closely with store management and colleagues

Skills & Experience Required

• Valid Frontline SIA licence (required)

• Previous retail or security experience (preferred but not essential)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude

• Ability to remain calm under pressure

• Good observation and problem-solving skills

• Flexible availability, including weekends and bank holidays

• Eligibility to work in the UK

• Five-year checkable employment history (preferred)
