Role Overview
The VDC Manager (Virtual Design & Construction) plays a critical role in driving digital construction strategies across projects in the UK. This position is responsible for leading BIM and VDC processes, ensuring seamless coordination between design and construction teams, and maximizing the use of digital tools to improve project delivery.
This role is ideal for an experienced VDC professional with strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for innovation in the built environment.
Key Responsibilities as VDC Manager
Lead and manage VDC and BIM strategies across multiple construction projects
Oversee model coordination, clash detection, and digital workflows from preconstruction through delivery
Collaborate with design consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment
Develop and enforce BIM execution plans, standards, and best practices
Support project teams with 4D scheduling, 5D cost integration, and constructability reviews
Ensure accurate digital documentation and data management throughout the project lifecycle
Mentor and support VDC/BIM team members to drive performance and growth
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in a VDC, BIM Manager, or Digital Construction role
Strong knowledge of BIM standards, workflows, and construction methodologies
Proficiency with tools such as Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, or similar platforms
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
