Role Overview
As a Wholetime Firefighter, the successful candidate will serve as a key member of an emergency response team, protecting the public through rapid, professional action during incidents such as fires, road traffic collisions, and other emergencies.
This role goes beyond emergency response. Firefighters also engage in community safety work, training, and prevention activities, making it ideal for individuals who are physically resilient, community-minded, and motivated to make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities as a Wholetime Firefighter
Respond quickly and effectively to fires, rescues, road traffic collisions, and other emergency incidents
Protect life, property, and the environment using professional firefighting and rescue techniques
Participate in community fire safety and prevention initiatives
Maintain firefighting equipment, vehicles, and protective gear to operational standards
Take part in regular training, drills, and skills development activities
Work collaboratively within a watch and wider service team
Uphold health, safety, and welfare standards at all times
Skills & Experience Required
Strong commitment to public service and community safety
High level of physical fitness and mental resilience
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn, train, and adapt in a demanding environment
No previous firefighting experience required, as full training will be provided
Shift Pattern & Pay
Wholetime shift-based role, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays
