Role Overview

Fortel is seeking a Security Officer to join its dedicated team. This is a full-time role based on construction sites, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring safety, providing customer service, and maintaining compliance with security protocols.

This position is ideal for someone proactive, professional, and ready to take responsibility in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities as a Security Officer

  • Welcome and assist staff, visitors, and deliveries with professionalism and courtesy
  • Manage bookings and direct individuals to the correct site areas
  • Conduct health and safety inspections, identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance
  • Uphold site access control and maintain accurate security records
  • Respond to incidents calmly and effectively, using conflict management training when required
  • Report all incidents to supervisors and management accurately and promptly

Skills & Experience Required

  • Valid SIA Licence (essential)
  • Valid Traffic Marshall Ticket (essential)
  • Minimum 5 years of checkable work history
  • Previous experience in security or a similar role (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic IT knowledge for reporting and record-keeping
  • Professional appearance with PPE worn at all times
  • Own transport (advantageous)
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • First Aid knowledge (beneficial)

Shift Pattern & Pay

  • £13.17 per hour
  • Full-time, approximately 60 hours per week
  • In-person role at construction sites
