Role Overview

As a Security Officer with OCS UK & Ireland, the successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding clients, their premises, and the public. This position requires vigilance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to act quickly and effectively in any security situation. Working both independently and as part of a wider team, the Security Officer will maintain a strong and professional presence that deters risks while reassuring clients and the community.

Key Responsibilities as Security Officer

  • Patrol assigned premises regularly to identify and prevent unusual activity or intrusion
  • Control access points to ensure only authorised personnel enter
  • Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, taking swift action where needed
  • Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security logs
  • Provide a visible, professional presence to deter unauthorised activity
  • Monitor and operate CCTV and other surveillance equipment as required
  • Deliver excellent customer service while enforcing security protocols
  • Liaise with emergency services and relevant stakeholders when necessary

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous security experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication abilities
  • Calm decision-making under pressure
  • Physical fitness to carry out patrols and respond to incidents
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • A professional, customer-focused attitude
