Role Overview

As a Presales Security Specialist, the successful candidate will act as the technical expert supporting the field sales team, helping customers solve complex security challenges with Microsoft Security solutions. This role involves everything from running feasibility assessments and scoping solutions to delivering whiteboard sessions and customer presentations. The specialist will collaborate closely with Business Development Managers to shape proposals, drive customer conversations, and position the right solutions that lead to stronger security postures.

This position is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to engage confidently with both IT professionals and C-level executives.

Key Responsibilities as Presales Security Specialist

  • Partner with Business Development Managers to support customer engagements and identify new opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with customers, from IT teams through to executive leadership
  • Design and present tailored security solutions that address business and technical needs
  • Lead whiteboard sessions, workshops, and customer presentations on Microsoft Security technologies
  • Prepare proposals, RFP responses, statements of work, and cost estimates for professional and managed services
  • Conduct solution design, including high-level architecture and bills of materials
  • Maintain up-to-date certifications and advanced knowledge in Microsoft Security Services
  • Act as a technical evangelist at conferences, webinars, and customer events
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to deliver seamless solutions
  • Track and report on pipeline, project status, and regional service delivery performance

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in security sales or presales roles
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365 Security solutions (knowledge of other vendor solutions is a plus)
  • Familiarity with security industry standards such as ISO or NIS2
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead discussions with both technical and executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and consultative skills with a customer-first mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deliver within tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, eager to learn and share knowledge
  • Motivated, approachable, and a positive influence within the team
