Role Overview
As a Security Officer at Cromwell Hospital, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. From managing access control and patrolling hospital grounds to supporting emergency readiness and providing a reassuring presence, this role is key to the hospital’s smooth and secure operation.

Key Responsibilities as Security Officer
- Respond appropriately to security requests and incidents within the hospital
- Patrol internal and external hospital areas to ensure safety and order
- Operate security systems, including access control and CCTV monitoring
- Maintain accurate logs and reports, ensuring seamless information flow
- Provide a visible security presence in reception and public areas
- Support hospital staff in safeguarding patients, visitors, and property
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining emergency and first aid equipment
- Present a professional image at all times, upholding the hospital’s standards
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a security role (hospital or hospitality preferred)
- A valid SIA Licence (essential)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Experience with CCTV systems (desirable)
- IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Professional, reliable, and able to stay calm in challenging situations
Shift Pattern & Pay
- Permanent full-time contract, 42 hours per week
- Shift pattern: 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am, including weekends and bank holidays
- Salary: £32,391.26 per year
