Role Overview
We’re looking for an Engineering Director, New Product Development (NPD) to join our team in Battersea, London (hybrid—3 days in the office). In this leadership role, you’ll drive the development of next-generation heated products for the Ninja brand. From concept to launch, you’ll oversee design and innovation strategies that deliver exceptional consumer experiences and align with our mission to positively impact lives.
You’ll lead a high-performing engineering team and collaborate closely with global teams in the US and China. This is an opportunity to shape cutting-edge products, lead with purpose, and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Key Responsibilities as Engineering Director, NPD
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence
- Direct all aspects of product design and development for the Ninja heated product category
- Oversee project lifecycles from ideation through to production, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Drive continuous innovation by identifying trends, technologies, and industry shifts
- Collaborate across departments including R&D, Advanced Development, and Product Marketing to ensure seamless integration of new products
- Enforce robust quality control and compliance with industry and regulatory standards
- Communicate project updates, strategy, and vision clearly to stakeholders and leadership teams
- Act as a strategic thinker, aligning category goals with business objectives
- Ensure every product delivers a 5-star customer experience and aligns with SharkNinja’s core values
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience leading engineering and NPD teams, ideally within consumer electronics or home appliances
- Strong background in product design, project management, and innovation strategy
- Passion for product excellence and consumer-first design
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem solving
- Degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)
