Role Overview
The company is seeking an experienced Security Manager to lead and support a dedicated security and control room team within a complex, high-profile environment.
This leadership role focuses on team management, operational oversight, compliance, and customer service, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and service delivery. The successful candidate will set clear expectations, coordinate daily security operations, oversee incident response, and collaborate closely with internal departments to deliver seamless service.

Key Responsibilities as Security Manager
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and support the security and control room team to achieve consistent performance standards.
- Conduct regular staff briefings, handovers, appraisals, and one-to-ones.
- Manage workforce planning, resourcing, and rostering to ensure full security coverage.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and team effectiveness.
- Ensure the security and safety of buildings, occupants, visitors, and assets.
- Oversee daily control room operations, including CCTV, alarms, and access control monitoring.
- Coordinate security response to incidents and emergencies, including investigations and accurate reporting.
- Manage key issuing, radio equipment, passes, and related audits.
- Supervise ancillary tasks such as bicycle facilities, visitor bookings, and reservations.
- Ensure full compliance with legal, health and safety, data protection, and company policies.
- Conduct regular compliance checks (e.g., fire exits, keys, equipment audits).
- Oversee accurate recordkeeping for incidents, shift changes, lost property, stock, and workforce data.
- Liaise with contractors and temporary staff, including right-to-work checks.
- Identify and support training needs within the team.
- Maintain up-to-date training and qualification records.
- Lead scenario-based exercises to strengthen team resilience and readiness.
- Act as a visible and approachable point of contact, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments including Operations, Guest Services, Maintenance, Catering, and Cleaning to ensure seamless service.
- Review procedures regularly and recommend operational improvements.
- Proactively identify risks and report trends to senior management.
Skills & Experience Required
- Valid SIA Licence (Security Industry Authority)
- CIM (Critical Incident Management) qualification preferred (training can be provided)
- Proven experience supervising security teams in complex, high-profile environments
- Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills, especially during incidents or emergencies
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills with experience in report writing and recordkeeping
- Knowledge of UK health and safety and information security best practices
- Attention to detail and reliability under pressure
- A commitment to delivering excellent service and exceeding expectations
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company and client health & safety procedures.
- Report deficiencies in systems or equipment that may affect service delivery or safety.
- Use PPE and work equipment correctly in line with training.
- Report any issues or training needs to line management.
Information Security Responsibilities
- Comply with all information security procedures.
- Identify and report potential security risks and incidents.
- Follow escalation procedures and indicate priority levels where necessary.
