Role Overview
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Bakery Manager to join the GAIL’s family. In this dynamic role, you’ll lead multiple bakery locations, motivate diverse teams, and ensure every site delivers outstanding service, quality, and operational excellence. You’ll be hands-on, strategic, and ready to adapt to the needs of each unique bakery you support.
This is not a fixed-location position. You’ll work across various bakery sites depending on business needs, supporting where needed most.
Key Responsibilities as Bakery Manager
- Lead and inspire bakery teams to deliver exceptional customer service and product quality
- Coach, develop, and empower team members through daily leadership and mentoring
- Ensure all operational standards are met, including health and safety, cleanliness, and efficiency
- Manage staffing, training, and scheduling needs across multiple locations
- Analyse business performance and implement strategies to improve productivity and profitability
- Solve problems effectively while staying calm under pressure
- Uphold GAIL’s values and foster a positive environment for both teams and customers
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience managing teams in a hospitality, retail, or food service setting
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong organisational skills
- Ability to lead by example and communicate clearly with diverse teams
- Flexibility to travel across multiple locations as required
- Passion for great food, community, and team development
- A strategic thinker with hands-on execution skills
Shift Pattern & Pay
- Salary: £38,000–£40,000 (employer provided)
- Full-time position with flexible working across locations
